WHEN FACED WITH CHALLENGES

Hello All,

Yes I know I have not posted for a million light years please bear with me as I found out I have the spirit of now and then blogging. God help me.

So recently blogs and what have you had buzzed as Ibidun Ighodalo's journey on wanting to be a mother had been. That alone was eye opening but what shocked me the most was the comment section on different blogs. Mostly women and men poured out their minds on their experiences (and I mean reactions they got)  from their neighbourhood, family members (mother in laws not left out) even in Church.

Most times we are told or advised to look up to God and be grateful when challenges come our way. Have we ever checked our own attitude to others when they are faced with issues. Even I am guilty of shifting or moving away from things or situation that do not concern me other times I laugh (working on being more broken).

Loved one /member of family ill...what did you do?
Relative of age but not yet married....how do you behave around them?
Some one you schooled with sometime ago has an addiction problem or going through depression....hmmmmm I have heard people say not here, we do not get such
Close friend going through a divorce....If male, are suggesting another female/If female are you avoiding such a person not to come near your hubby?
The list goes on....... How have you been reacting to such? Shake your head and say "it is well" or do something else.

Anyways from the comment section I learned that kindness goes a long way in making people going through such feel better albeit you never know when the tides will turn. A hug too would be nice but please note that this depends on how close you relate with the person

The next time people gossip about someone going through something.....shut them up.....leave that place.

I know we have so much going on for us in this country .........Naija we hail thee but please be nice. I started with myself smiling to a female customer service officer today and I called her sweetheart. I got what I wanted, she smiled all through while attending to me and her colleague laughed.

I'm happy they smiled (they might be going through stuff) and I too smiled* and laughed (despite going through mine).

Reading the book of Tobit, even made me happier. Until I blog again, hopefully sooner throwing kindness your way.

DIARY OF A LAGOS GIRL

Lets make this short as I know I have offended many.

I'm so sorry not been faithful for so long on this Blog .......no excuse is good enough but please know that I intend to turn a new leaf this year but would be according to events that happen.

My yesterday was eventful as I had a very busy day at the office and got invited for the movie premiere of this movie "Diary of a Lagos Girl'. The actors include Dolapo Oni, OC Ukeje,Alex Ekubo, Linda Ejiofor, Paul Adams, Liz Benson-Ameye.

No I will not be a spoiler alert as I hope you would go and watch the movie, as I found it to be hilarious. Why I'm writing on this movie is because I feel there are lessons from it that we can apply everyday which we tend to over look as humans.

1. Be happy.....irrespective of life being the way it is, celebrate it. There's life, you can smile, jump, see, hear, cry ....the list is endless. Life can be fun if we ease up a little

2. Prayer is the key as we go through different experiences in life. Have a relationship with God and this can be done in so many ways praise, thanksgiving, prayer, meditation

3. Frenemies .......Be very careful of those you choose to call friends as they may hardly be and end up causing you hurt as we have seen in the example of TSquares wedding #seizethebae2016

4. Try new things......never say never as I found myself doing things I never thought I could do e.g. eating monkey meat, being a TV presenter in Hausa, hugging randomly as the individual was hurting and trying to heal.

5. Get rid of the fake lifestyle.....we do not need to live our lives to please others, just do you and be happy

6. Give back and start small.......it could be an orphanage, widows, old home etc. The feeling of affecting peoples lives positively can't be explained

Yes I would rate the movie 4/5 as of course I enjoyed the free popcorn but the picture quality (made the actors not so fine) and the sound quality had some ish here and there.

Until another something happens.......take care and God bless.
